"The Dialog Festival is one of the most innovative and intense cross-cultural events taking place on our territory - says the Department for Cultural Policy of the Province of Rome Cecilia D'Elia - aim of the festival is to show how culture can give voice to the processes of acceptance and integration. We live in a historical period marked by massive human migrations, social, cultural and irreversible global interrelationships. Culture is a resource for developing these major changes and overcome the fear of one that impoverishes our society. "
Saturday, September 25 to 21 is staged Kele Faden, produced by ' Ass Cult. narration, an intercultural project on the phenomenon of child soldiers. The show is hosted within the International Human Rights Festival (24-30 September) at the campus Selva dei Pini (University La Sapienza).
Dialog Festival focuses this year on two main areas: the dynamics of integration of the Roma and those of immigrant population. Shows, meetings, conferences, photographic exhibitions, book presentations, workshops are an opportunity to inform the debate on multicultural society and the role that artists, intellectuals and foreign nationals play in consolidating the ground of dialogue and the rights of citizenship.
Another highlight of the festival has promoted the twinning with the Theatre of Mostar, a place of dialogue and an attempt at reconciliation between ethnic groups still divided by tensions inherited from the past.
Dialogue is also training: there will be presentations in schools and cultural centers of the Province of Rome on intercultural issues, with Italian and foreign trainers to work directly with students and young people of the territory.
The Dialog is definitely a great opportunity to network, and strengthen civil society on issues of coexistence, solidarity and social inclusion.
The program is developed in joint initiatives di Pomezia, Roma, Ladispoli e Frascati, costruisce sinergie sia con gli enti locali che con partner istituzionali, mirando a coinvolgere in rete il mondo del terzo settore.
