L 'idea which is the basis of this work in progress (which will become a show and a documentary) was to investigate 'the field' a theme as old as the theater, if not the humanity, which is identity.

The topic has found endless variations and reinterpretations, but certainly not last even a definition: the return from Buenos Aires that surrounds this trip is a very specific point of view, apparently localistic (the issue of the disappeared Argentine), in 'perspective, however, a universal perspective, one can say the fragility of the way and not another, from a dramatic events and even to some extent unresolved.

In recent decades, following the end of military dictatorship in Argentina (1978-1982), among the many atrocities of various kinds made by the regime in those years and came to light, he had to deal with a very peculiar phenomenon. Thanks to the work of the Grandmothers and Mothers of Plaza de Mayo, which over the years have never ceased to raise awareness on the disappearance of their children, has come in contact with a fact little known and somewhat shocking. Abandoned children search for the impossible a few years later, mothers were not given for wins and put themselves in search of their grandchildren. This was possible because the military that abducted, tortured and then made 'disappear' the various opponents, in case you are faced with
pregnant women, the first discarding, made her give birth to concentration camps where prisoners were held and then entrusted to families of infants other military personnel who wanted a child and could not have or maybe they could take care of the child remained in / on without the natural parents with total impunity and in total anonymity. The stubbornness of the Mothers (Mothers) in the meantime become a grandmother (Abuelas), and the help of gene technology as well as some legislative acts of the new democratic governments in Argentina, following the fall of the dictatorship, allowed to
several dozen boys and girls to discover themselves grown up in families 'unfair', to the judiciary to prosecute serious crimes committed by these families, but most of the time managed to get away, running away with complicity and deceit, a country of begin to do really come to terms with its past.

The show-investigation to be born from this trip is based precisely on some of these stories. The 19 to Frascati will stage the first stage in a narrative of a journey that will bring together in terms of theatrical point of view the boys 'found' with that of the grandmothers, the views of the victim who did not know he victim and the point of view of the mother / grandmother who does not give up at nothing. The work will make use of both documentary material available and collected in the field during their stay in Buenos Aires, but not be limited to putting it together as an act of denunciation of a horrible crime, a true crime against humanity, but try to transpose On a more general question of the suffering of self-discovery as essential moment of human development, individually and collectively, and perhaps even when they are denied or censored.

The initiative is in the fifth edition of the Festival Dialog, an initiative organized by 'Association Sirens and produced with the assistance of the Lazio Region, Department of Culture, arts and sports.
